Why Buy This Vehicle:
Car designed in early 1981 by Bob Marcks, Chief of Special Vehicle Projects at Chrysler. First one (in Mica Red) was shown at the NAIAS in Detroit in January, 1982. It met with some success on the show circuit and was put into limited production for 1983, as the Executive Sedan [and the Executive Limousine -- 7 inches longer wheelbase, dual jump seats, and division window]. The cars were fully equipped at nearly $19,000; no demos: you paid for it and delivery was in 2-3 months! A LeBaron four-door sedan was cut 1” behind the “B” pillar with the rear portion discarded, and a LeBaron coupe/sedan was cut 9 inches behind the “A” pillar for the Sedan or 2 inches for the Limousine, and the front discarded. With two steel support bars in the floor pan, the two ‘cars’ were welded together to make one car - by ASC in St. Louis. Wheelbase went from 100” to either 124” or 131”. The only options were Cassette and Wheels (Road or Wires), later, leather interior. All power equipment was standard! Production: 1983-84 was 205 Sedans; 1983-86 was 1498 Limousines. [Of 1703 cars built, fewer than 100 known to exist in 2005, in any condition, around the world.] Old Cars Weekly (4 Jan ’07) proclaimed the Executives to be among the few 1980s collector cars.

Engine is the Mitsubishi four cylinder 2.6 Liter (156 cid) with HEMI head, for 101 horsepower & 140 ft. lbs of torque. Transmission is TorqueFlite three speed automatic. All power equipment items and air conditioning were standard. MSRP was $19,377.00 as built in December, 1983. Color is Radiant Silver Crystal coat with light gray velour cloth interior. Included are two gold leather-bound Data, Trim, Color & Selection manuals (1984), two Technical Service manuals, sales literature/brochure, and the LeBaron Owners manual.

Car was highly refurbished (engine, brakes, suspension, paint, roof) in 1998 by Howard Hesketh of St. Louis for Bob Smith, Editor of Limousine Registry – “account keeper” of all Executives. Has parade cooling fan and dark tinted windows. In last 9.4 years I’ve driven it 10,000 miles and get 20 – 32 mpg on ‘regular.’ Installed new air conditioning compressor 10/11; it was 134A. New Cooper Trendsetter wsw tires 6/13: two sets of wheels & tires. New wiper motor, battery, and headliner, 6/14. New rear springs 10/15. See local Chrysler dealer for service. Represented the cars of Walter P. Chrysler at the Concours d’Elegance 2010 awarded “Second in Class.” Now total of six appearances. Secured & temperature controlled storage.

April 2015 full tune-up w/carb-choke rebuilt. New engine coolant-thermostat-cap, 5/14. October 2015 mileage is 144,516 miles. Custom car cover. Spring service completed 21 April 2016: This car is rare: Have you ever seen one?
