This ultra rare tiger was treated to a mega dollar frame off rotisserie restoration with all the attention to detail. Laser straight mirror finish correct Cameo ivory exterior with an extremely rare flawless correct dark aqua bucket seat console interior with beautiful correct white convertible top. 1964 GTOs are considered the very first true muscle car by everyone from A-Z in the automotive industry, and all their affiliates. The 64 GTO was the brain child of John DeLorean, Pete Estes, Jim Wangers, and a few others. Before the GTO the muscle car was full size cars with big engines. These cars were slow to get going but eventually got the job done. But all the true gear heads and hot rodders knew if you put a big engine in a smaller car the end result was speed and lower elapsed times. The Pontiac boys offered for the first time in 1964 a $295.00 GTO option. Putting a 389 CI in the light weight LeMans and the rest was history. Word spread quickly between all the car guys that finally someone had made a lighter car with the bigger engine that could be bought right off the showroom floor with different performance options that would suit everyone’s tastes.
