Comments: This is a beautiful classic, professionally restored by Amos Minter and his professional team at Thunderbirds 55-57 in Dallas, Texas. It is classed as a Class 2 (out of 5 classes/Old Cars Price Guide) professionally restored automobile. That means it is a driver Ð not a pristine championship car that is trucked between car shows. ÊIt is intended as a car that is to be driven and enjoyed in town or on the highway, with rally groups or on your own. It's a great parade car. This classic comes with a 245 horsepower Thunderbird 312 Special V-8 engine, the optional Ford-O-Matic automatic 3-speed transmission and a 12-volt electrical system. Like most 1957 models, this does NOT have the continental wheel mount on the rear (which was standard in 1956 and reportedly optional on the 1957). ÊThe hard top port holes were standard on both the 1956 and 1957 models, not on the 1955.Ê The 1957 model T-Bird was longer than the 1955 or 1956.Ê An extra foot of length was added behind the cockpit, giving it a longer, lower look. ÊFor this reason, the 1957 is the choice model of the three years of the original T-Birds. With the purchase of this car you get both a hard top and a soft top.Ê There is a Ôhard top standÕ to store the hard top in your garage.Ê The soft top fits either behind the seat or in the trunk.Ê You also get brand new Thunderbird floor mats and an OwnerÕs Handbook (Operating Manual). ÊIt has a current New Hampshire inspection sticker and the original bias-ply tires have been replaced with wide white side-wall radial tires. ÊThe original bias-ply tires are available to you if you want them. ÊIt also has a simple but ingenious transmission lock. With its highly polished, deep red color and all white interior (except for the red floor carpet and red floor mats), it is a Ôhead turnerÕ with thumbs up everywhere it goes. ÊAll of its components (gauges, wipers, heater, turn signals, Town and Country radio, etc.) are in full working order.Ê There is no rust.Ê It has been garaged every winter from October to May. This vehicle will go quickly. ÊIt is located in the Lake Sunapee region of New Hampshire.Ê The preferred contact is via e-mail.Ê If you need to call, a phone number will be provided. SHIPPING INFORMATION Pickup can be arranged at time of sale. ÊIf shipping by motor transport (vehicle transport truck) is desired, buyer must arrange. ÊCost to buyer. PAYMENT INFORMATION Specific payment method and timing to be worked out at the time of purchase decision. Ê
